September’s back and just as January, this month to me means a fresh start after the joyful months of summer. Making plans for the season, making workout resolutions, tidying up ideas, scheduling blog posts and setting a couple of goals is just what I need right now. So after a disastrous summer in terms of bullet journalling (I was kinda shaky during June and July and completely skipped August…!), I’m now back at it and I thought I could share with you a quick post on my September bullet journal set up.
As to the theme, I wanted something a little less conventional than the usual autumnal leaves. In fact, September here is still pretty warm, the beach is at hand and you can easily enjoy a good ice cream and hang around with summery dresses. For me September is the month of music and book festivals, where the super-hot days give way to milder and enjoyable evenings out in the garden with friends and while slowly getting ready for Autumn, there’s still quite a few summer vibes fluttering around. Rather than nostalgia-prone, it is a vibrant period, full of events and opportunities with just a touch of romantic melancholy: a happy month deserves a happy theme and hot-air balloons fit into it perfectly!
What I love the most about it, is how simple and soft the layout turned out, which makes it easy to replicate. I love pastel colours, they can be worked on multiple layers without ghosting or bleeding through on the next page, they are super relaxing to use and the result always is very delicate. Also, pretty everyone has a box of pastels hidden somewhere at home, no need for super expensive brush pens (which are totally on my wishlist anyways, but I’m not that pro yet!).
What I used:
- Pilot Frixion Ball 07
- Pastels
So here we go, with my brand new hot-air balloons bullet journal!
